The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you.

What you’ll do:
As our Software Developer, you will be a key contributor to the design and implementation of our modern web applications. Contribute towards the design and implementation of our modern web applications. Develop UI and Front-end using StencilJS and JavaScript for Web Applications. Build Rest APIs using C# .NET that will be consumed by Web and Mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver solutions as part of an Agile Scrum team.
- Think through a problem, identify alternatives, understand potential. Complete all tasks associated with getting phenomenal code out the door.
- Create design documents and present the designs to the team architect and architecture council for review.
- Leverage understanding of software development principles and practices to help mentor and coach junior team members.
- Support and triage issues and participate in production support to help develop resilient and secure systems to prevent issues that impact on our clients.
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks)
- Build alerts and dashboards to monitor the operational aspects of web applications
- Delivering new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment
- Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience gained through 4-5+ years in a software development role.
- Strong skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with Angular, StencilJS, TypeScript, and client side MV* frameworks
- Strong C#/.NET Core development knowledge
- Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) expertise
- Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT)
- Version Control Systems like Git (Bitbucket or GitHub) or SVN
- Creating and consuming RESTful services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Conducts in-depth analysis, evaluates factors, and influences decisions with insights
- Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies
- Good interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to independently work as a contributing member of a quick and focused team
- Ability to thrive in a distribute development setting, across multiple time zones and locations
- Produces work that meets or exceeds quality expectations
- Writes concise, well-structured, and engaging documents
