Schwab is seeking a driven, results-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Technical Lead who shares our passion for technology, innovation, engineering excellence, and delivering exceptional client experiences.

As part of our ongoing modernization efforts, we are evolving our enterprise platforms using cloud-native architectures, AI-assisted engineering practices, modern quality engineering frameworks, and continuous delivery pipelines. We embrace Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Specification-Driven Development (SDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) to build high-quality, scalable, and resilient solutions.

The SDET will thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment, partnering closely with software engineers, product owners, architects, and quality engineers to ensure quality is engineered into every stage of the software development lifecycle. This role requires a strong software engineering mindset, deep test automation expertise, and the ability to lead quality transformation initiatives across multiple teams.

What you have


Required Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field
3-5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering
• Understanding of QA practices (black box testing, risk based testing, system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing practices)
• Strong technical competency in an OOP language such as C#.NET/Java or an expert in test automation tools including Selenium or other industry leading tool sets
• Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA/Testing organizations and Business teams
• Strong software development background with proficiency in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in test automation frameworks, API testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native testing approaches.
• Hands-on experience implementing BDD, TDD, and Specification-Driven Development methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Agile, Iterative development process and methodologies is essential
• Passion for building solutions through automation, driven by innovation and commitment to lifelong learning
• Strong problem-solving skills including ability to disseminate complex ideas in a simplified fashion
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues using best practices to support live applications
Prioritizes compliance, security, and scalability of data systems
Addresses QA challenges by applying best practices in testing and compliance
Monitors and addresses security policy violations using best practices
Resolves software design challenges using predictive and adaptive methods
Applies best practices to build, test, and validate software components while resolving issues

Preferred Skills:

• Acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using Gherkin languages like Cucumber or SpecFlow is a plus
• 1+ years of experience with Service Oriented Architecture Quality Assurance, and thorough knowledge of testing API orchestration layers and Real-Time Messaging interfaces such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Exposure to a regulatory environment (like Banking & Finance or Health care etc.)
• Experience in developing or influencing the development of scalable automated framework(s) that orchestrate enterprise level functional and regression testing is preferable
• Hands on experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (Bamboo/GIT etc)

Ensures stakeholders has the necessary information for informed decisions
Anticipates consequences of situations and acts to prepare for contingencies in assigned tasks
Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements creative solutions
Influences team quality and effectiveness with decisions
Verbally presents ideas confidently, ensuring mutual understanding
Builds credibility with expertise, transparency, and confidentiality
Delivers powerful messages with persuasive language to drive viewpoint adoption
Produces work that meets or exceeds quality expectations
Writes concise, well-structured, and engaging business documents
