What you have
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of SAvE Production Operations Engineers responsible for application availability, stability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong coordination with U.S.-based teams.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Development, Architecture, Infrastructure, SRE, and business stakeholders to improve application reliability and customer experience.
- Drive proactive problem management, root cause analysis, risk identification, and remediation efforts to reduce recurring production issues and improve service health.
- Establish operational standards, monitoring strategies, support processes, and service-level objectives that strengthen application resiliency and performance.
- Lead major incident response, escalation management, and post-incident reviews while ensuring clear communication with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee production readiness activities including release validation, infrastructure changes, disaster recovery testing, certificate renewals, dependency reviews, and non-business-hour operational events.
- Champion practical SRE practices including observability, automation, toil reduction, error-budget awareness, runbook maturity, and prevention-focused operational improvements.
- Enable follow-the-sun support coverage through strong knowledge management, handoffs, and operating routines between India and U.S. teams.
- Mentor and coach team members to strengthen technical capability, production ownership, client focus, and professional development.
- Manage team structure by identifying resource needs, interviewing candidates, onboarding new engineers, succession planning, and managing performance.
- Maintain documentation, code quality where applicable, operational procedures, and governance artifacts that support secure, resilient, and compliant operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, related degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of management experience leading technology teams in large, complex, and geographically distributed organizations.
- 8+ years of experience in production support, application operations, platform support, SAvE, SRE, or application reliability functions supporting enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of distributed architecture and troubleshooting across application, network, authentication, API, messaging, batch, database, and cloud components.
- Experience leading major incident management, service restoration, escalation management, operational governance, and post-incident continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Development and Product teams to improve production readiness, automate operational processes, and reduce client/business impacts.
- Experience implementing practical SRE or reliability engineering practices such as monitoring, alert quality, observability, toil reduction, runbooks, automation, resiliency testing, and service-level objectives.
- 6+ years coaching team members to identify and achieve personal and professional development goals.
- 6+ years managing team structure, resource planning, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
- 6+ years providing project and operational execution transparency to senior management and stakeholders through status reporting, risk tracking, roadmaps, and operational metrics.
- 6+ years demonstrating senior-level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Demonstrated collaborative mindset and bias for action to engage Product Management, Development, Architects, SRE, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, business partners, and adjacent teams.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or technology delivery environments with a focus on continuous improvement and high performance.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems creatively in fast-moving production environments.
- Track record of mentoring and coaching team members to strengthen the organization.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, strong work ethic, high integrity, and ownership mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience leading SAvE, Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering, Production Operations, or Application Support organizations.
- Experience supporting critical financial applications such as Billing, Treasury, Liquidity, Cash Management, Securities Lending, Collateral Management, Bank, Move Money or similar business platforms.
- Experience with public or private cloud environments such as PCF, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of observability platforms, application performance monitoring, log analytics, enterprise scheduling, event management, and automation tooling.
- Experience with Control-M, enterprise batch scheduling, file movement, data movement validation, or operational workflows that support critical business processing.
- DevOps experience including continuous integration, continuous build, continuous delivery tools, infrastructure-as-code, and operational engineering practices.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery, business continuity testing, resiliency programs, certificate renewals, and non-business-hour operational events.
- Experience building and scaling India-based technology organizations while partnering closely with U.S.-based leadership teams.
- Ability to synthesize complex data, manage resources, and develop strategic insights that improve stability, resiliency, and execution outcomes.
