This people leader (PL) role provides an opportunity to do impactful, meaningful work protecting client information, critical business data, technology assets, and the trust our clients place in Schwab every day. The Sr. Manager will lead a multi-discipline Schwab Cybersecurity Services team, bringing together Vulnerability Management, Application Security, Data Protection, and Technology Risk & Cybersecurity Compliance (TRACC) capabilities to reduce enterprise risk, strengthen control execution, and improve visibility across Schwab’s technology environment. This leader will set direction, manage priorities, develop talent, strengthen operational discipline, and partner across Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to improve risk reduction outcomes and sustain effective security operations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of approximately thirteen cybersecurity professionals across Vulnerability Management, Application Security, Data Protection, and Third-party Cybersecurity Assessment (TRACC) functions, coordinating with US based teams
- Establish team priorities, operating rhythms, and accountability mechanisms that align daily execution to enterprise cybersecurity, risk, and compliance objectives
- Oversee vulnerability management activities, including prioritization, risk-based remediation coordination, reporting, and escalation of overdue or high-risk items
- Guide application security efforts that strengthen secure development practices, application risk visibility, vulnerability remediation, and partnership with engineering teams
- Lead data protection operations and control execution across capabilities that help protect sensitive data in motion, in use, and at rest
- Lead and oversee Third-Party Cybersecurity Assessment processes (TRACC), ensuring assessments are executed with quality, consistency, and timeliness.
- Coordinate workflow management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting to support effective risk identification, mitigation, and governance outcomes
- Partner with senior leaders, control owners, technology teams, product teams, and risk partners to resolve barriers, drive decisions, and improve security outcomes
- Use metrics, reporting, and operational insights to communicate performance, identify trends, support audits, and inform prioritization
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, playbooks, service levels, escalation paths, and evidence practices to improve consistency and audit readiness

What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Seven or more years of experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, security operations, application security, vulnerability management, data protection, or related disciplines
- Three or more years of experience leading teams, managing people, or providing formal direction in a matrixed technology or cybersecurity environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead operational teams with clear priorities, measurable outcomes, service expectations, and escalation practices
- Working knowledge of vulnerability management, application security, data protection, security controls, and technology risk management concepts
- Experience partnering with engineering, infrastructure, application, risk, compliance, and audit stakeholders to resolve complex issues and improve control effectiveness
- Ability to use metrics, reporting, and data-driven insights to communicate risk, measure performance, and influence prioritization
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics into clear business, risk, and executive-level messaging
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable while building a collaborative and inclusive team culture
- Demonstrated experience of continuous process evaluation and implemented improvements
Strong judgment, ownership, and organizational discipline with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading teams in financial services, highly regulated environments, or large enterprise technology organizations
- Experience with vulnerability management platforms, application security capabilities, data loss prevention, database activity monitoring, encryption, tokenization, or related data protection technologies
- Experience leading or improving teams responsible for triage, analysis, and case investigations, with a focus on operational excellence and consistent execution
- Familiarity with risk and control frameworks, audit evidence expectations, regulatory exams, PCI DSS, or enterprise control validation activities
- Experience building or maturing operating models, runbooks, service level expectations, executive reporting, and cross-functional governance routines
- Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and driving outcomes across teams without direct authority
- Industry-recognized cybersecurity, risk, or leadership certification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, Security+, or equivalent
