​​We are seeking a Specialist, Software Development & Engineering to join our Enterprise Middleware & Online Security Technology. In this role, you will be developing, maintaining, supporting, and improving a scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise applications. This role emphasizes strong ownership, modern engineering practices, cloud-native development, and collaboration across distributed teams while supporting mission-critical Schwab platforms.​

What you have

​​•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
•3+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise applications.
•Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience developing applications using Spring Boot.
•Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
•Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
•Experience working in Agile development environments and applying Agile principles and practices.
•Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, including technologies such as Bamboo, Harness, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.
•Experience using monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar solutions.
•Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data persistence technologies.
•Experience with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or similar platforms is preferred.
•Experience implementing automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and API testing.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
•Demonstrated proficiency using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent solutions in IDE and CLI-based workflows.
•Apply GenAI capabilities to improve engineering productivity, reduce context switching, and accelerate delivery across the software development lifecycle.
•Utilize prompt engineering, custom instructions, and AI-assisted workflows to improve development effectiveness and software quality.
•Experience with spec-driven development approaches, translating technical designs, API contracts, data models, and requirements into structured specifications that enable effective AI-assisted implementation.​
